Funny thing about Valentines Day is, I find that there's more pressure on the men and kids. Kids always want to give out the trendiest cards for when we exchange cards. I remember my parents always waiting last minute to get me valentines day cards to give out and I'd always be left with those boring no name heart cards or characters that no one in my class knew. I never liked doing it, it was too much pressure, kids are bullies. Then you have those awesome parents who go above and beyond and get chocolates, candies and bake cookies to give away along with their cool trending cards!
Im not gonna lie though...
Ill probably be that mom the first time around going above and beyond.. then eventually make my kids just cut and paste their own cards lol atleast it's still creative, they won't appreciate it then, but i'll be building up their artistic skills... They'll thank me later.
Here is a fun cookie recipe for those #momgoals.
My go to cookies are cake cookies.
Super easy, its just cake batter, food colouring, powdered sugar. The change up, dying it red and shaping them into hearts! What else lol.
It will win huge points in my kids class thats for sure! Lol
Preheat oven to 350° F
In a bowl take the cake mix, food coloring, oil, and eggs and mix together
[If the dough is too sticky you can chill it for 10-15 minutes before you shape it into hearts]
Dust Powdered sugar on dough while on the baking pan and shape into hearts
[I used the sugar to coat my fingers to make it easier to shape, otherwise the dough just sticks to you-this is the hardest part]
If you want you can add sprinkles on top
cuz you know you want to
Bake for 10-15 minutes until just set.
Let cool 3-4 minutes on pan before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
Voila Heart-shaped cookies. I'm telling you this will make you the best mom ever! I know when I bring these cookies to share at work, there's never one left. It's cake in cookie form, shaped as a heart! Where can you go wrong??
